Victorian Era

I am just so in love with the Victorian Era styles. I love historical things (with a dash of elegance), so this style fits the bill. Anywhere from Queen Anne to the Second Empire, it's perfect. I, right now, live in a Colonial house but when I'm older (right now I'm 16), I plan to buy this really old, run down house in my town. It has so much character. That's what I love about this house style.

Arts and Crafts All The Way

I like the Arts and Crafts style of architecture: natural wood interior trim, wide window frames, built-ins. They speak old and comfortable to me.

Favorite house style

I prefer the arts & crafts movement. I personally think it was one of the most innovative.

Victorian!

I just LOVE Victorian style homes. They look so historical and I'm in love with buildings that have some sort of character to them. Victorian houses look majestic, beautiful and unique and don't quite look like any other house on the block. They come in many different shapes and sizes and some are very old. That just adds more flavor to them. Love it!

Storybook Houses are my favorite

I love the Storybook House style because it's whimsical, fun, and unique.

Craftsman Houses

Because of the detailing and the emphasis on natural materials, I would choose this style as my personal favorite.

Nature Houses

I would like to design a house that will blend with the available natural elements without disturbing them

Tidewater

I love the tidewater houses. The wrap-around porches are efficient ventilation systems. Living in the South, we are able to enjoy a lot of porch weather!

Manly Craftsman Houses

Craftsman (also known as Arts & Crafts). The look exudes strength! Women generally don't like the Craftsman houses because they ARE very masculine with their broad pillars, stonework, low overhangs, and rustic interiors. Pastel colors, and multi-colored fabrics are out of place in these hard-surfaced and dark hued furnished interiors.

My Dream House Idea

Well, I bought the game Sims so I could design houses. I like making the houses because then I can do whatever I like: modern day houses with garages. I like the ones with the stone on the front. I think this makes the houses look more spacious.

My Dreams

I would like to design something traditional and modernized. What I mean is a mixture of both arts so that it feels like an extra-ordinary design. I'm not that good in design. It's just my little imagination. I'm just learning architecture and want to thank you a lot for the guidance.

Tropical Architecture

This is not a very recognized style but I love it because it addresses issues of the humid climate.

High Victorian

Queen Anne, Second Empire, and the like are a showcase of fine craftsmanship not likely to be seen on such a grand scale again. I own an original foursquare. While I appreciate the nice woodwork, it's too rectilinear.

Arts and Crafts

As a design enthusiast, my favorite style is Arts & Crafts. Its wide and low pitched roofs, use of natural materials, earth-toned color schemes, and overall craftsmanship makes the Arts & Crafts style hard to ignore and almost impossible to duplicate today. Morris, Greene, Stickley (Sears & Roebuck) and, to a great extent, Wright owe much of what they did for architecture in this country, to the East (Asia if I'm not mistaken). From Bungalow to Craftsman to Prairie, you will find very, very few people who are NOT taken with the Arts & Crafts style.

The Classics

My favorite house style is the classics - colonial revival or colonial.
