Keep it simple
- Hi Jill, I love your house. I would paint the triangle Texas sage, the same as the rest of the walls. Keep the trim above the triangle dark brown. Put a piece of sculpture in the triangle area such as a star, bird, drift wood--something that reflects your location. Or mimic the shape of your oval house # sign. Good luck, I've got way bigger problems. ~Pat

Same exact issue here!
- Hey there Jill! I understand your frustration as I'm going through the same exact frustration. An irresponsibly placed gable in the wrong place can make your roof look really goofy! I had found a great piece of advice in the About.com blog on how to remove it and how to make it through this challenge safely, but can't find it anymore. Don't know if you can remove yours, but mine is pretty big, just hanging there! Maybe a structural engineer could help out. Otherwise a good painter will help. I really like your choices of colors. They're hip and should look lovely with your roof. Otherwise you can always paint the gable blue and it will blend with the sky - just an idea? Hope this helps.

Try Mexican Colors
- Tan with white trim. Or, green with tan trim. A Mexican feeling and look, possibly.
