About My House

A thoroughly contemporary approach to architectural designing. The building is based on a split level concept to make maximum use of space.

Ashwin architects, from Bangalore has extend a meaningful interface between my lifestyle and my surroundings. He also posted a few of the project pictures at http://www.ashwinarchitects.com/project.html

Favorite Features

The basement houses office space and 3 cars. The house is split over 2.5 floors with the top floor being a home theatre and a terrace space.

A private sit-out with hard–scaped exposed brickwork as flooring and hoordie block wall cladding add a touch of the 'rustic' as it was not possible to have a garden because the sit-out is located on the sump tank. The sit-out is interspersed with stone benches and a stone teapoy to further the rustic touch. The sit-out acts as a space expander to the living room.

Lessons Learned

  • Lighting plays a major role & can tickle our senses to a great extent if played upon aesthetically. Our modern home gives ample scope for this.
