About My House
Actually this is not my house, but it is designed by me and is under construction. The house is in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. Ethiopia is found at the horn of Africa. It is a country with more than 3,000 years of civilization with ancient architectural historic sites like Lalibela, Axume, and Gondar.
The plot for this house is very narrow & small: 10 X 17.5m bounded by two 10m wide access roads at the east and north.
Favorite Features
This is a modern G+2 house. Unusual bold planes run from bottom to top of the building and are painted with seasonal colors. The whole volume is designed in such a way that the two colored planes interlock to form a unified whole. Moreover the colored planes face two side roads with pride and elegance. I love the two interlocking volumes. They are the grace of the house.
Lessons Learned
- Now is the time to live in and design a modern house.
