My husband and I just bought this house in Dallas, Texas which was built in 1927. It is located in Oak Cliff, one of the original suburbs of Dallas.
This house was described as a Tudor bungalow by the Realtor. The interior is similar to many of the craftsman style houses that we saw, but obviously the exterior is very different. I'm wondering if the Realtor is correct about the style and and what features of the house can help to determine its style.
- I would like advice on what style this house falls under
- I would also love to get some recommendations about possible colors to paint the shutters and/or trim to make it look a bit more eye catching (in a good way!)
Jackie Craven, About.com Architecture, says:Yes, your charming house might be called a Tudor bungalow, or perhaps more precisely, a Tudor cottage, or Cotswold cottage. Delightful!
