My House:
Our house was built in 1896 in Bay Minette, Alabama. It has shingle siding. The house is two rooms deep on each side of entry hall. There are wings on each end of the house. Both front rooms - the dining room and the great room - have pocket doors. There are stairs in the alcove near the rear entry. The dining room has a bay window with a seat.
My Puzzle:
What is the style of this house: Georgian, Queen Anne, Shingle, Neoclassical, one of the revivals, or is it a combination?
The house seems to have elements of several styles. The front windows have star patterns on the upper panes, over single panes below. The rear windows swing out. The right wing houses the kitchen. The left wing is a mystery room, purpose not known. That room is 7 feet by 16 feet.
There are three upstairs bedrooms with a study(?) in the middle opening to an upper porch deck. There is one bedroom over the right kitchen wing.

What a handsome house! Although it has shingle siding, I would not call the house "shingle style." For clues to your home's style, pay special attention to these details:- symmetrical shape
- columns
- dentil moldings
- balustrades
