About My Old House


We just purchased our new OLD home and is was built in 1858, in Kingsbury NY. (Washington County). We have just begun to research the history of our new home.

Favorite Details


We love EVERYTHING about our LARGE old house...... that is ......everything except the heating costs!

Our house is Spacious, over 3,000 sf

Beautiful Woodwork

HUGE Sunroom

TONS of storage

Many Built-ins

504 SF Modern master bath and Bedroom

Complete with a white picket fence

Lessons Learned

  • Close off unused areas in the winter, and turn down the heat
  • When you remove old wallpaper, be aware of what you may find
  • Make-sure to inspect your old wiring
  • Seal or replace all drafty doors and window before winter
