About My Bungalow
We're in Coronado District of Phoenix, AZ. Our house was built in 1935, while most around it are very similar, but built in the mid-1920's.
Favorite Details
Built in book shelves surround the fireplace and include a drop down secretary desk by the front window. Oak floors throughout home, even in the kitchen. There are two bedrooms and one bath. The front windows are all original sash windows and will need to be stripped and one fixed (rope with weight has been cut). But they are SO big and will give us a lot of light. The back bedroom has new (really bad) window that we'll replace with some of the stained glass pieces that my father made.
Lessons Learned
We're still working on the house before we move in! It will be a challenge moving from 1900 to 900 square feet. The back yard is huge though and we may end up with a 2nd building for hobbies/office, etc.Jackie Craven, Architecture Guide, says:
Your hard work will pay off. This house is a charmer. I love the jerkinhead roof on the front gable!
