About the Project
A modern minimalist and tapered-shape coffee bar with reinforced steel framing, turnbuckle/rod support, and tempered clear glass roof panel. Accented with concrete vertical posts, a coffee bar counter suspended with one support is an added feature. The flooring is of wood grain tile finish that blended on the over all aesthetics of the structure.
Significance
The owner fulfills needs not only for special occasions and gatherings but also for the comfort and ambiance of this outdoor structure. The materials that I used combined reinforced tubular steel framing assembly, a reinforced concrete vertical support with clear glass in between, a tempered clear glass paneling, up light accent lighting in between vertical supports, a natural manufactured stone coffee bar counter, and wood grain outdoor Italian tiles.
Lessons Learned
- Despite on a very limited area to design an outdoor coffee bar, I was challenged to blend it with the existing structure and to have a focal point on the surrounding area.
