Park51 Community Center
My Review
The appearance of the building is of no consequence.
In the debate over the plans of building this site as an Islamic worship place I wonder if the relatives of the 2606 victims of the 9/11 attack on the WTC were asked for their opinion on the matter.
Will they want to see an Islam symbolic building on the site where their loved ones were murdered in the name of the same religion?
To me it seems like laughing at their grief and sorrow.
It's like dancing on their grave.
Because the Ground Zero is a place for a memorial on their loved ones' grave.
It's like building a Neo-Nazi Party main building inside Auschwitz extermination camp (or in its immediate proximity).
I would support the proposal of an alternate site in the Lower Manhattan, but not on Ground Zero site immediate vicinity.
Would you recommend this to a friend?
YesJackie Craven, Architecture Guide, says:
Supporters say that the two blocks surrounding "Ground Zero" is a culturally diverse community and there has actually been a mosque located near site for many years, constructed long before the World Trade Center. See: Background of the Ground Zero Mosque Issue
