The proposed One Trade Center, including the upper parapet, will rise 1,368 feet (417 meters). That's the same height as the tallest of the two Twin Tower buildings that were destroyed by terrorists.
The spire will bring the "Freedom Tower" to the height Libeskind had wanted: 1,776 feet. This number is symbolic because 1776 is the year the United States became an independent nation.
