About the AIG Building:
Located at 70 Pine Street, this limestone-clad Art Deco skyscraper is the tallest building in Lower Manhattan and the among the top 50 worldwide. The skyscraper originally had double-decker elevators that served two floors at a time.
The AIG building is currently home to the much beleaguered American International Group, now renamed American International Underwriters. In the midst of scandal over a multi-billion dollar bailout and unscrupulous bonuses, AIG plans to sell the architectural gem. Previously, the AIG building was owned by Cities Service Company.
The AIG building can be seen at the end of popular movie Spiderman.
