Questions about your house? Ask us!

What style is your house? When was it built? What color should you paint the trim? For answers to all your building and remodeling questions, join us in the Architecture Forum here at About.com.

What is the Architecture Forum?

The Architecture Forum is your place to ask about house styles, home design, remodeling, and anything else about architecture and design. The messages you post will remain online for others to see and respond to in the days and weeks ahead. In many cases, an architect or other expert will reply to your question within a week or two. Other homeowners may also leap into the discussion and share their views.

Post a Photo

Questions about houses can be tricky, so it helps if you can include a photo with your question. Here's how to post a photo >>

See Your Home Featured

Every month, several house photos are featured in our House Helpline Gallery, our Architecture Blog, and our Architecture Newsletter. If your home is featured, you'll have an even greater chance of receiving helpful feedback.

Get Started Now

Are you ready? You can log onto the Architecture Forum as a Member or a Guest. Guests are welcome to read messages posted by others. Members can post their own messages and photos. To become a Member, you'll be asked to register. Your email address and other identifying information will remain confidential. This requirement helps us keep the Architecture Forum free from spam and inappropriate messages.

Question Not Answered?

After you've posted a question, remember to check back. We don't know your email address, so any answers you receive will be posted on the Forum. If several weeks go by and you still don't receive a response, try posting again with more details about your house. And, please do let us know when our answers help!
