Use this directory to find organizations, associations and foundations for architectural historians and persons concerned with preserving and restoring historic architecture.

American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA)
Represents 1,000 firms in a wide variety of fields, including historic preservation, history, archaeology, architectural history, historical architecture, and landscape architecture.

Global Heritage Fund
The stated mission of GHF is "to protect, preserve and sustain the most significant and endangered cultural heritage sites in the developing world." Preservation by Design® is an approach for proactive instead of reactive historic preservation.

GSA Center for Historic Buildings
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) provides historic preservation expertise, including fiscal viability strategies, for federal buildings throughout the United States.

International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS)
Dedicated to the conservation of the world's monuments, ICOMOS has chapters all over the world. The U.S. National Committee of ICOMOS (US/ICOMOS) organizes conferences and symposia throughout the year.

Historic Albany Foundation

Historic Preservation Education Foundation (HPEF)
Since 1986 HPEF has provided information to increase the general public's awareness of important preservation issues. One important focus of their education is restoring and rehabilitating windows in historic buildings.

League of Historical Cities (LHC)
The LHC promotes exchange between 95 historical cities from 59 countries and regions around the world. The website includes info on member cities.

National Trust for Historic Preservation
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is a private, nonprofit membership organization that works to save endangered buildings and preserve historic places in the United States. A wealth of information about historic preservation can be found in the National Trust magazine and Web site.

Partners for Sacred Places
Events, conferences, and publications for the support of historic churches, synagogues, mosques, and meeting houses.

Society of Architectural Historians (SAH)
Anyone interested in historic architecture can join and participate in meetings and study tours.

UNESCO
Home site of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, with publications, events, links, and more.

Victorian Preservation Association
Home page includes a photo gallery of member homes and an excellent listing of historic house museums and tours in America.
