The Stanley-Whitman House in Farmington, Connecticut is a remarkably well-preserved example of New England Colonial residential architecture. Dating from about 1720, the house has many late-medieval features common during the 1600s. Note:
- Massive chimney placed at the center
- Second story protrudes over first story
- Saltbox roof shape that slopes down in the rear
- Diamond-paned windows
