Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University has ten floors and 61,000 square feet. The exhibit spaces are stacked in a nine-level tower. By building high instead of wide, I.M. Pei and the architects in his firm were able to preserve the surrounding landscape. Additional galleries and meeting rooms are below ground.
