Completed in 1975, the spaceship-shaped Mercedes-Benz Superdome is a record breaking domed structure. Located near the French Quarter of New Orleans, the legendary Superdome sheltered thousands from the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. The storm damaged the distinctive domed roof.
The hurricane damage has been repaired and several upgrades have made the Superdome one of America's most advanced sports facilities.
