Frank Lloyd Wright borrowed $5,000 from his employer, Louis Sullivan, to build the home where he lived for twenty years, raised six children, and launched his career in architecture.

Built in the Shingle Style, Frank Lloyd Wright's house was very different from the Prairie Style architecture he pioneered. Frank Loyd Wright's home was always in transition because he remodeled as his design theories changed.

Frank Lloyd Wright expanded the main house in 1895, and added the Frank Lloyd Wright Studio in 1898.

Guided tours of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio are offered daily by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust.
