Author and spokesman for the New Urbanist movement, James Howard Kunstler says Americans are building cities that aren't worth caring about. In his books The Geography of Nowhere (compare prices) and Home from Nowhere (compare prices), Kunstler paints a grim picture of barren lots, ugly architecture, and streetscapes strewn with fast food restaurants and car dealerships.
