KCBF sends us this mystery:

I am trying to determine the style of a Victorian house I am considering purchasing.

This house seems to have a folk style to it, but the top half (the dark green) is shingled. There is no molding anywhere on the exterior, and the eaves do not overhang. This home is located in Des Moines, IA in the Riverbend Historical District, built in 1896.

The roof and eaves troughs and most of the porch is not original, but to my knowledge, the rest of the exterior is original. My questions are:

1) What style of Victorian home is this?
2) Do you think that the eaves originally overhung the house?

Additionally, any design ideas you may have are definitely welcome.

Can you name the style of this house? What things can KCBF do to restore it? Use this easy form to send your comments and ideas.
