Rebecca from Portland, Oregon sends us this mystery:

"Built in 1913, the house has been completely remodeled inside (1994). We'd like to know what the the original floorplan was. We don't seem to have a fireplace - kind of odd for the period. Old man across the street says it was a German man who built lots of them around here. I can't find any Sears, Aladdin, etc. pictures that come close. Decorative bracket

"I've checked the attic for numbered or stamped beams. Could it have been built from a plan from one of the magazines of the day? Is it possible that the original house was built, then a short time later remodeled to add the dormers? We know the detached garage was added in 1937. It has the same exterior siding as the house.

"Is there such a thing as Old Portland Style??"

Do you recognize the style of Rebecca's home? Have you seen similar styles where you live? How were the rooms usually arranged in this type of house?
