What Type Tudor?
"It's an offshoot of the Tudor Revival style. My neighbor directly behind me has a similar house, only much larger (about 3000sf). English Plaster is what planbooks called it. That label, and Cotswold, is more descriptive than Tudor. Your house looks like a storybook house."
From Michelle:
"I live in central Iowa and we have many houses like this style here. (My husband and I almost bought one earlier this year.) Usually small floor plan (1100-1500 sq. ft.) They are quaint and have personality, although most here have more overhang (due to climate) and usually rounded doorways and some windows. I have seen few without the fireplace,(climate). I have seen windows made of wood and metal. You have a cute home. My guess would be Tudor/cottage with maybe some local influence??"
From Sandra:
"Well, even though the house doesn't have the Tudor revival half timbering or the big chimneys, I'd call it Tudor. I think it's a Cotswold Cottage-- It's a sort of a nostalgic style inspired by old English Country cottages. Sears made a lot of mail order kit houses in this style in the early 1900s."
From Mafalda:
"Your mystery cottage is not Tudor, not by my English understanding."
