 Find Architecture Information
Search

This tool searches for the words you enter on the pages you select. To search our Architecture pages, select "in this topic" on the scroll-down menu. To broaden your search, select "on About" or "on the Web." Select "in Products" if you are searching for books, software, or other items to purchase.

Search Tips
If you enter 2 or more words...
If you enter words without punctuation marks, the search engine will find pages where these words appear,
whether or not they are together as a phrase. For example, if you enter Queen Anne Architecture, the engine might find a page about a girl named Anne who wanted to be a queen because she loved the architecture of old castles.

To find only those pages where the precise phrase "Queen Anne architecture" occurs, enter the phrase in quotation marks:

"Queen Anne architecture"

It does not matter whether you use capital letters or small letters.

For more advanced searches...
These words can help you in your search:

and
or
and not
near

If your question is complex, use parenthesis to group separate ideas:

(victorian AND architecture) OR (Queen AND Anne)

Check your spelling
Unless a word is spelled correctly, it won't be found. If you're not getting the results you expect, double-check the spelling letter by letter.

Add more words
If you're getting too many irrelevant pages while searching for a single word, add another word or two (separated by AND or NOT, as needed) to narrow your search.

Use wildcards
You can use an asterisk (*) wildcard to stand in for any string of letters. For instance a search for

architect*

will find pages with words such as: architect, architecture, architectural, etc.

Don't stop here...
About.com has more than 600 separate sites, and many include information about architecture. If this search engine cannot find the information you seek on the Architecture site, it will search throughout About.com.

We hope you find what you are seeking! But, if you come up empty, please consider posting your question on our electronic message board. The board receives many visitors, and someone may have an answer for you.
