Patterned Shingles

Mystery House 1800 - Patterned Shingles

 Clues
• Victorian House Styles
• Carpenter Gothic
• Folk Victorian

"We bought this house a few years ago and we are still unsure about the style. We know it was built in 1895 and still has the original wood siding, but the large front porch was added at a later date. The diamond pattern in the shingles is based on an old photo we had found. Also in this picture there were some spindly-things as detail around a small front porch. The original colour is hard to identify from the old photo but my husband found some oxblood and dark green under all that he scraped. Could these be the original colours? Please offer some insight. We would appreciate it." ~JPZHERE
