Thank you, Jane Jacobs
Thursday April 27, 2006
Metropolis Magazine calls her the "Godmother of the American city." Canada's CBC station calls her a "Spiritual guide" for city planners. When Jane Jacobs wrote The Death and Life of Great American Cities (compare prices), she changed the way we think about our urban spaces. Her death this week at age 89 has brought an outpouring of gratitude for her visionary ideas.
