Whatever happened with that Frank Lloyd Wright filling station that was supposed to be built in Buffalo, New York? For the last decade or so, the Buffalo Transportation Pierce Arrow Museum has had permission to build a non-working gas station using Wright's undeveloped plans, but construction is always just a tomorrow away. Like most building projects, the problem isn't in the plans—it's the financing.
Once constructed, Frank Lloyd Wright's gas station will be a part of Buffalo's impressive collection of Wright revivals. Designed during the Great Depression but built many years after Wright's death are:
- The Fontana Boathouse (shown above)
- The Blue Sky Mausoleum
