The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, is a time for introspection and memory. This week we celebrate Yad Vashem Holocaust History Museum in Jerusalem, Israel. Designed by internationally known architect Moshe Safdie, Yad Vashem "safeguards the memory of the past and imparts its meaning for future generations," according to its website.
Also, look at the zinc-coated Jewish Museum in Berlin, Germany. The building shown here brought fame to architect Daniel Libeskind, who went on to design the World Trade Center master plan. But more importantly, the glistening museum brings hope and pride to the thousands who visit there.
