If you were living in the 1700s, your school might look something like this one in St. Augustine, Florida. The St. Augustine Schoolhouse is thought to be the oldest wood school building in the United States.
Folks in New Mexico dispute that claim, but at any rate, this rustic school offers some insights into how North American buildings were constructed back in the 1700s. Sort of gives a new meaning to the term air conditioned.
