They didn't have to offer me the chance to win a Kindle. Even without enticement, I was eager to see the New Economy Home by architect Marianne Cusato.
Cusato won my heart in 2006 when she introduced a line of affordable, energy-efficient Katrina Cottages. She continues in the same vein with her New Economy Home, unveiled at the recent International Builders' Show. The simple design has an old fashionedy feel. In fact, Cusanto's New Economy house looks a lot like my 100-year-old house... but with souped-up systems for optimal energy efficiency.
You can take a virtual tour of the New Economy Home (and qualify to win a Kindle) at www.builderconcepthome2010.com.
