Hats Off to Snohetta
Friday May 8, 2009
I was thrilled to see Europe's most prestigious architecture award go to Snøhetta architects. Snøhetta won the biannual Mies van der Rohe architecture prize for its work on Oslo Opera House. This jagged white structure is much more than a theater. Resembling an iceberg or a ship, the Oslo Opera House lays the foundation for an innovative urban renewal project on the waterfront in Oslo, Norway.
