Tuesday April 28, 2009
Casa de Balboa in Balboa Park, San Diego An innovative genuis, Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue combined Gothic and Hispanic designs with modern ideas and revolutionized church architecture. His fanciful Spanish Churrigueresque buildings for the Panama-California Exposition inspired a revival of Spanish styles in the United States.

Today is Goodhue's birthday: He was born April 28, 1869.
