America's Controversial White House

The White House On October 13, 1792, the cornerstone was laid for a presidential home in America's newly designated capital, Washington D.C. The building we see now looked very different from the one constructed in George Washington's time. Over the centuries, the US White House has seen much conflict and controversy.
