Happy Birthday, Raymond Hood

Tribune Tower in Chicago Born on March 29, 1881, Raymond Hood straddled the centuries. The Chicago Tribune Tower that he designed with John Howells is lavishly Neo-Gothic. But ten years later, Raymond Hood was designing sleek Art Deco buildings at New York's Rockefeller Center. Fast forward a couple more years, and Hood was designing buildings so modern, they foretold the International Style.
