Jackie's Architecture BlogHappy Birthday, Raymond Hood
Born on March 29, 1881, Raymond Hood straddled the centuries. The Chicago Tribune Tower that he designed with John Howells is lavishly Neo-Gothic. But ten years later, Raymond Hood was designing sleek Art Deco buildings at New York's Rockefeller Center. Fast forward a couple more years, and Hood was designing buildings so modern, they foretold the International Style.
