It's no wonder that the tornado that struck Atlanta, Georgia this weekend poked some holes in the famous domed roof of the Georgia Dome. The tornado winds blew down a wall at the Georgia World Congress Center and shattered windows at the Omni Hotel. Amazingly, the Teflon-coated fiberglass panels on the domed roof of the Georgia Dome didn't cave in.
The Georgia Dome claims fame as the world's largest stadium with a dome supported by cables. Heavy rains damaged the roof a few years after the Georgia Dome was built, but structural problems were corrected and, so far, so good. More about The Georgia Dome >>
