Even the Stadium is Super
Friday February 1, 2008
Even if you don't follow football, you'll want to tune into Super Bowl XLII this Sunday. The New York Giants will play the New England Patriots in a stadium like none other in the world. With an innovative facade designed by architect Peter Eisenman, the University of Phoenix Stadium has a fabric roof and a 94,000-square-foot playing field that rolls in and out at whim. And the stadium's odd shape? Modeled after a barrel cactus, he says.
