Spiraling energy costs and fears of global warming have inspired some interesting innovations in home design. This weekend Americans are invited to tour more than a thousand energy-efficient solar-powered homes and businesses. Sponsored by the American Solar Energy Society, the National Solar Tour will take place on October 6, 2007 in nearly every state and the District of Columbia.
