See 3D Architecture Online

Sunday May 20, 2007
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has partnered with Google to create two nifty sites that let you see 3D views of architecture:
  • Blueprint for America
See demonstrations of community design projects conducted by volunteer architects and residents. Blueprint for America was launched to celebrate the AIA's 150th anniversary. Throughout the year, volunteers will work on issues such as affordable housing, mass transit, and urban renewal.
  • America’s Favorite Architecture
See texturized 3-D images of monuments, skyscrapers, and other famous landmarks. The chosen architecture was selected earlier this year in an interactive poll, and now you can comment on the results. To see the pictures you'll need Flash Player 8 and at least a 1024x768 screen resolution. (You can download the Flash Player for free.)
