Al Gore, the champion spokesman for environmental issues, is the keynote speaker at the
2007 AIA National Convention and Design Exposition in San Antonio, Texas this weekend. Focusing on
green architecture and sustainable design, this year's AIA convention will offer more than 250 continuing education programs, 60 tours, 40 events, and 800 product exhibitions.
Al Gore almost became America's president in 2000, but now he's best known for his touring digital slide show and bestselling book, An Inconvenient Truth. We can anticipate that Gore's talk will warn that over-sized, energy-hogging architecture is not merely inconvenient, but irresponsible.
