"So why is it that people happily spend thousands of dollars building a house, but not a zack on designing it?," asks Stephen Lacey in Australia's The Age. Lacey was complaining about Australians, but I doubt problems of taste and good-judgement are confined to the land down under. Here in the U.S.A, some of the ugliest houses are being built in the newest and most expensive neighborhoods. Just look at what members of our Forum are saying about tacky American houses.
