Alternative to repainting?

Friday September 16, 2005
A member of our Discussion Forum writes, "We recently built a lovely wood (pine) house, but I'm already beginning to feel overwhelmed by the cost of having the exterior painted every few years. One wall in particular is hard to reach and has to be approached by a scaffold. Someone suggested that we cover that wall with some kind of finish (I think stucco) that doesn't need repainting every few years. Does anyone know what kind of finish is being referred to? Or does someone have any other ideas for a solution that would be economical in the long run?"
